Christmas is the most magical time of the year. We love stories of elves especially during the weeks leading up to Christmas. In Nordic literature, each homestead has its own house elf, a tiny, kind creature that comes out at night and tends the farm and its animals when people are asleep. They are never seen, but they are always watching and sometimes if you look closely you can find their small footprints in the snow.
